Diller team wins at Pickrell in 18 to 14 contest

Diller beat Pickrell 18 to 14 last Tuesday with Hubka catching and Diekmen Wiemers on the mound. Martin and Wiemers homered as the home games schedule was altered to fit an 8 team Fairbury tournament next week. A power mower accident injured Mrs AlfrEd Weimers requiring seven stitches.

Weimers Recalled to Army Duty in World War II Era

Leonard Wiemers, first local serviceman ordered back to active duty, travels to Cheyenne for a physical before reporting to Sheppard Field Texas later this month. His wife and three children stay with his mother Mrs Alpha Wiemers in Wyoming during the process.

Family Dinners Honor Birthdays in Beatrice and Diller

Mrs Frank Grabber celebrated her birthday with a dinner at home attended by Mr and Mrs Bob Murray of Beatrice Mr and Mrs Howard Peters and Mr and Mrs Will Ames of Fairbury. A planned park photo was canceled by heavy rain. A second birthday dinner for Mrs Frank Roseman took place at the Roseman home in Diller with their children and spouses. Roe Sparks from Trinidad Colo visits the Sparks parents in town. Lloyd Johnson and son of Lincoln visit the Lotttman home this week.
