Fairbury land sale ends with bid to form park group
At a referee sale in Fairbury the 15 acres of timber and pasture land adjoining the town sold for 1955 dollars. Citizens formed a stock company to buy the land for a park but were outbid as the town lost the chance to secure the ground at the purchase price plus seven per cent. The home place went to Bam tiltee of Wilber for 2850 dollars.
