Dr W T Jeffries and son Leon returned Friday from Arvada Colorado and will reside in Mrs Weigel's property in Diller. His daughter Ethel plans to join soon and stay with her grandmother to attend Blue Springs school. William Smith and family arrived Monday to visit in Diller area. Smith, once a local farmer, now lives near Wichita Kansas and reports excellent crops this season.
Four of John Henrichs horses escaped into the railroad track Friday afternoon and were struck by the evening passenger train No. 15. Three animals were killed or fatally injured on the bridge, while a recently bought broncho crossed the bridge unharmed. The victims were valued at about 250 dollars, including a well bred animal.

About 5000 attended the ninth annual A O U W picnic at Diller yesterday. Geo H Clark of Tacoma presided. Eunice and Fay Diller played a piano duet while Maude Kendall of University Place gave readings. O J Vandyke delivered a strong fraternal address. Performers included the O Connell and Caliope Quartettes, and Eugene Falk wowed with feats on bars, rings and slack wire. Balloon ascent had an initial mishap but was followed by a successful second ascent. Plymouth band provided music and order was excellent.
