Liberati Leads American Band at State Fair In 19th Century
Italian born trombonist leader Gr Lideret, debuting as a cornetist at twelve and soloist in the Papal army at seventeen, arrived in America in 1872. Since 1884 he has led a major American band and will present soloists, operatic choruses, and Liberati's Stabat Mater at the State Fair, with Rossini’s work highlighted as a centerpiece in a festive program.
