Classifieds note a good second hand organ for sale and planning to enlarge a farm residence. The Burlington offers round trip tickets to San Francisco and Los Angeles with August travel. San Francisco and back costs 450.00, August 1 to 14. Los Angeles round trip 845.00, August 1 to 14. Ask the ticket agent for particulars.
Prof. F. D. Miller, former principal of the Diller schools, visited this week and left Wednesday for Indian Territory. He hoped to buy a drug store and persuaded druggist J. W. Sutton to accompany him in the deal.
It is announced that the government will provide headstones for soldiers who have died, free of charge, upon proper application. No coat or other expense is charged to those who order, as the government also covers transportation costs to the nearest railroad station.
Mrs Mollie Allens of South Fork Kentucky says she avoided cholera morbus by taking Chandlerain's Stomach and Liver Tablets at the onset of symptoms. She praises the tablets as cleansing the stomach and warding off attacks. Also said to prevent bilious colic. Sold by J W Sutton.

Contained notes include travels by Clint Tiistman and Fred Diller to Fairbury and back, Jas Condon of Omaha visiting property interests, and Mr Zimmterman of Ellis visiting Smith County Kansas to see his daughter. Also mentions Waller powder for freckles, trips to the Pacific coast, Duroe Jersey hogs for sale, grain in stacks, farm talks on threshing, funeral in Phillips County Kansas for Douglas Hauver, and a county school wage report. Representative Landis proposes lynching liability measures for sheriffs and counties with damages to heirs of lynched persons.
The Nebraska Experiment Station issues Bulletin No. 80 on mulching garden vegetables. It reports three years of tests comparing straw mulching with cultivation for common vegetables. Nebraska residents can obtain the bulletin free by writing to the Agriculture Experiment Station in Lincoln Nebr.
An allegorical depiction shows a girl near a grasshopper stepping on a snake, contrasted with a man who spends heavily on a cyclone cellar yet neglects to buy Chamberlain's Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy for his family. A local ad notes a cut and slash sale of two row sister cultivators priced at 18 dollars each while stocks last. J O Blauser appears as the seller. The item is pitched as warranting good work for potential buyers.
Excursion trains to the A. A. W. picnic at Diller depart next Thursday. Outbound from Wymore and Odell at 8 30, from Fairbury and Endicott at 10 30. Return trips: Fairbury train leaves at 7 p m and Wymore at 9 p m.
Indian Office officials in Washington call the Indian Territory the richest undeveloped tract on earth citing iron, lead, zinc, oil, gas and manganese with coal for coking. New York City imposes high licenses from May 1 causing many hotels and saloons to close their doors or suspend business. Brooklyn license fees rise from 600 to 900 and Manhattan and the Bronx from 800 to 1200.
J. O. Blanser's hardware building rests on a new foundation on the second lot north of its former position beside Bixby's restaurant. Wes Carmichael the house mover executed a fine job and Blanser plans a thirty foot extension to create a seventy foot long room for his growing business.

The depart ment commander seeks wide attendance of officers delegates past commanders and comrades on the trip with contact for details through Adjutant General W S Ashworth in Omaha or Burlington agent.
Mr T N Reese visits Diller while a three inch rain benefits corn growth. Local notices mention property changes, a marriage in Denver area, church services, a clock invention, river levels, and community clean up plans. A St Louis exposition feature liquid air and strawberry freezing is also described.
A group of half a dozen elderly residents met on a Diller street this week. Dr. M. Davis aged 89, J. O. Pearce 85, W. C. Frisbie 75, Thos. Copeland 70, O. Gifford 69, and J. P. Lichty 64. Their combined ages total 452 years, an average above 75, and all report fairly good health.
