Dalter Teesday led with 51 points for Bearest against Lewiston and Dent, while other schools like Reynolds Plyrath and Helmesville scored in the teens. Young Farmer Found Dead Near Diller in Ill Health
Julus Folkerta Jr. 25 was found dead around 10 am April 2 near the Berman Neuman farm five miles south of Diller. He had left home Monday to work, his car and dinner left behind. officials deemed it a suicide with no inquest. Funeral services set for Friday at 2 pm at the Funeral Home and 2:30 pm at the Lutheran Church in Lanham.

Former Diller Girl Joins the WAACs at Des Moines
Mr and Mrs Harry Walker and family and Ralph Long returned from Des Moines Iowa where they visited their sister Miss Mildred Long now stationed at Fort Des Moines as a WAAC. Mildred a former Diller girl and chief operator at Diller Telephone office enjoys the training and work though strenuous. They moved 20 miles in Des Moines to find a room. Miss Long serves in the 14th Co Regiment Des Moines Iowa.

Charles Allen Hays 1868 1943 Beatrice Nebraska resident
Charles Allen Hays born August 25, 1868 on a Perry county farm in Pennsylvania died April 18, 1943 at his Beatrice home. He moved to Nebraska as a boy, married Alice Tucker in 1893, and left five children Adella Fern Kent James Keith Rose. Funeral services were held at Beatrice Baptist Church April 20 led by Rev. Charles Scott. He lived in Diller from 1908 to 1931 and remained a lifelong Baptist though unaffiliated with a church.
