Injured Carpenter H. E. Green in Beatrice fall
H. E. Green, a veteran local carpenter, was badly hurt Monday when a plank collapsed while he was shingling the Geer residence. He suffered a fractured tenth rib, a neck injury, bruises, and shock, and was taken to Mennonite hospital Beatrice for treatment. The last report said he was resting comfortably.

Mrs Kate Maw Mathews died April 23 1939 aged 74 living most of her life in Blue Springs and Diller Nebraska and briefly near McDonald Kansas She was born November 21 1864 near Davenport Iowa married Stephen D Maw March 22 1883 and had eight children Ralph Hazel Floyd Nellie Fay seven living in Diller twenty five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.Services were held at the Green home then Congregational church conducted by Rev H H Pyche Burial at Liberty Cemetery beside her husband. Card of Thanks expresses gratitude for floral offerings and ministry.
