A big crowd is expected for Educational Day in Diller. The program runs 9:30 to 11:00 rural school program at the High School, 11:00 to 12:30 scholastic contests, 12:00 to 1:30 picnic dinner, and 1:45 to 2:45 band concert. The combined bands will perform the first four numbers before the Senior Band concert, followed by sports activities.
Ingalsbe Wood Studio in Marysville Kansas offers a two week start for a summer beginner course using the Saxette method. Monthly instruction is 100 dollars and a 300 dollar instrument package includes all music supplies.
City officials finished a permanent floor on the park stand this week. The site will host Educational day activities on Friday and is planned for frequent use in the coming season with church services picnics and weekly concerts in prospect.
Relatives were summoned to Lincoln Monday morning due to Mrs Esther Raymond's tenuous illness. The crisis has passed and she is reported improving. Mrs Raymond is the daughter of Mr and Mrs H E Green of this place.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. E Wag goner and Mrs. Mollie Riddle traveled to Lincoln on Saturday and stayed until Sunday evening. Charley Wag goner looked for laminate goods and rugs for his customers.
Arbor Day saw limited observance locally this year though the movement inspired many tree plantings. Across the region, several communities marked the day with larger celebrations and public planting efforts.
The ladies of SuPPER church host a general supper in the church basement Saturday evening April 28. Adults 25 cents, children 15 cents.

The American Legion boxing show at the Beatrice bus depot Monday night attracted a large crowd. Diller fans attended and called the exhibition a success. The main event featured Buzz Smith of Liberty knocking out Tuffy Fleishman of Loisville in the 4th round of a 10 round fight.
Endicott and Diller played a close game last Sunday with a 2 to 1 score in favor of Endicott. The new suits may have aided, but the outcome remained Endicott’s win as the game stretched to the final inning.
Mrs Elizabeth Fouts returns to her Diller home after months away visiting her son Kenneth Fouts and family at Seward Nebraska. Kenneth Fouts and family drove to Diller Sunday to bring their mother home.

Adam Gretzinger of Diller visited yesterday and learned the dentist had just left for western Kansas, delaying his appointment.
Otto Fox found a freshly dug 30 inch wide by 44 foot deep trench in a plum thicket by a creek two miles from his home. The shallow grave like hole has prompted speculation from Senior class vigil boxes to hidden motives. Mel Roy, a self styled mentalist, declined to reveal who dug it calling for a private interview.
Farmers in the Agricultural Adjustment Administration program receive 28 cents per bushel on their farm allotment plus 6 4 percent of base production, added to the farm price of wheat. Nonparticipants rely on market price only. For 1933 drought reduced crops, payments push parity to over 64 percent of production. Funds come from the processing tax. 1934 tax rate to be set this summer based on farm price versus parity.
