A pair from Washington Kansas brought about 2400 gallons of gasoline to the Farmers Cooperative station in Diller. State men blocked unloading without a timely Nebraska permit. The drivers retrieved the permit in Lincoln, then unloaded later the same day. No tax evasion occurred.
County meeting in the County Court House with State Club Leader L. I. Frisbie outlined 4H activities for 1936. Local leaders Ralph Long Mrs. Claude Nider and Mrs. C. J. Jacobs of Diller invite boys and girls to contact the Agriculture Agent or community leaders for details.

Mrs. Frank Webber living east of town found a freak egg last Friday. The complete egg contained a second yolk wrapped in a soft shell, a rare and unusual nesting occurrence.
Mrs Sam Thompson traveled to Lincoln on Monday to assist in caring for the child of Mr and Mrs Wayne Thompson who was suffering from pneumonia.
The congregational church ladies will host the annual supper on Saturday evening April 18 in the church annex. Prices are 15 and 25 cents.
True Thompson was summoned to Boone Iowa in the latter part of the week to work as a machinist in the Northwestern Railroad shops.

Mrs. Olsen, mother of Mrs. Lloyd Sinkey, died after a cancer illness. Mrs. Sinkey had cared for her mother for three weeks. Mr. Sinkey left for Hartington, and funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday as friends extend sympathy to the Sinkey family.
Mr and Mrs H A Bell hosted their four sons and families for Easter at their home half a mile southwest of town. Present were Benford Bell with daughter Raleigh Bell and Max Bell with son plus Robert Bell and wife from Kansas City Missouri. The Kansas City couples arrived Saturday evening and left Sunday evening.
The Daykie school building was formally dedicated Tuesday evening with PWA assistance noted. State Superintendent Taylor County Superintendent Genevive Clark and Dr. H Newell of Alexander gave addresses and recalled school service from many years ago.
Mr and Mrs Theodore Henrichs were Easter dinner guests of Mr and Mrs Isaac Saylor. The Saylor couple say the gathering was a good time mainly because the Henrichs brought in from the country a selection of foods.
Mr and Mrs Herman Stahl hosted last Sunday guests including his mother Alvin Stahl and family from Diller and Lawrence Stahl and family from Pickrell Nebraska. The two gentlemen are Herman’s brothers.
Herman Diekman and Mr and Mrs Carl Diekman with children spent Easter at the Ernest Maschmeier home in Ellis. Mrs Maschmeier is the eldest daughter of the senior Mr Diekman.
Extension entomologist O S Bare of the Nebraska Agricultural College will host a bee keeping demonstration on the Ernest Kreisel farm located two miles south and one mile east of Gladstone. The session will take place Tuesday April 21 and begins promptly at 2 PM.
Mr and Mrs Erwin Fanders announce the sale of the Green Room Cafe to Dean Barber and thank customers for past patronage while wishing the new proprietor much success.

The Library Association annual meeting elected officers including Mrs. D. Fanders as president and Mrs. Grace Fasnacht as second vice president. Librarians report membership 168, books loaned 8446, on hand 1766, bought 216, treasury $4.05, with a 1193 increase in loans over last year.
The Diller Woman's Club will sponsor a tree planting project for fifth to ninth graders in the Diller community. Children may select any tree for their yard, receive guidance, and must care for it. A prize awaits the living tree by next Arbor Day, with reports to Mrs. O J Mayborn Mrs A A Eick or Mrs Ralph Long.
Several hundred Nebraska farmers have entered the second annual statewide pasture improvement contest to improve grazing land management. Entries close May 1. Ten farmers in Jefferson County have filed entry cards for the contest.
New circulars from the University of Nebraska college of agriculture are now available to Jefferson county farmers. They cover brome grass, grains, and forage sorghums.
Jefferson county residents are invited to the annual county-wide extension project clubs program in Fairbury on Wednesday April 22 starting at 1 30 PM. A panel discussion titled What Makes a Good Day for the Far Family features several members led by moderator Mrs Ernest Leonard. local leaders will be honored with a candle lighting service and newly elected officers will be installed.

Nebraska farmers will gather in five district points for co operative meetings in Wilber Columbus Aurora Minden and Sidney late April. The sessions promote co operative marketing and are sponsored by the Farmers Elevator Association of Nebraska Elevator Managers Association Omaha Bank of Co-operatives Extension Service at the college of agriculture Farmers National Grain Co operation and Farmers West central Grain Co.
