The Methodist Episcopal Church invites members and friends to Sunday School at 10 A M and evening services at 7 30 PM Recent attendance rose and a spring outlook is hopeful An Easter program by the Sunday School will be presented next Sunday with every class represented Miss Hanson sang The Palms last week and Dr Hanson will conduct the Easter service Sunday evening A blessing and welcome await attendees
The women of the Congrega tional church will hold their annual spring supper in the annex on Saturday evening, April 22. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Carpenter moved into the Greenwood rental property last week. A Beatrice couple welcomed a baby boy Sunday at 215 Court Street. Elmer Diller, a former Diller boy, now manages a chain store in Beatrice.
Mrs C C Wells of Ellis is described as recovering from a recent illness in a Beatrice hospital. Dr Ellis accompanied A Mayborn to Lincoln last Friday. Bob Andrews signs as authorized carrier for the Lincoln State Journal and the Omaha World Herald seeking mail subscriptions.
After school Tuesday, Mrs. Fanders received a surprise birthday celebration planned by her 3rd and 4th grade pupils. They sang, played games, and enjoyed a luncheon of fruit salad whipped cream cake and candy bars at five o clock. Teachers Mrs. Andrews Mrs. Patton and Mrs. Hurst assisted the students who organized the party.
Mr and Mrs N Crangie from Los Alamos Otovwi New Mexico were guests of Mr and Mrs L M Cavett in Diller on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs Crangie is Cavett's cousin and in girlhood days visited the Bixby home here in Diller.
Kenneth Fouts drove from Seward Nebraska to bring home his mother Mrs. Elizabeth Fouts who had visited at his house after returning from Rock Island Illinois where she cared for her sister Mrs. Curtis until her death and burial. Accompanied by his young daughter Ruth they returned Sunday to Seward. Kenneth renewed his copy of the Record while here.
Mrs. Willems returned from a year with her sons in Warroad Minnesota and Pembina North Dakota to their home. She plans to spend the summer with her daughters in Shea Nebraska and Diller Nebraska. She traveled 500 miles by auto to St Paul and back by train with her son Dick who had business on President Roosevelt s forestation plan. She notes Warroad winter temperatures about 50 degrees below zero and Nebraska cold winds as harsher.
Next Sunday marks Easter as farmers across the area ready fields for corn planting. Mr and Mrs Everett Green and their son from Lincoln visited Diller relatives on Wednesday.

Higher grain prices improve farmers holding large corn and wheat supplies. Markets for corn and wheat are stronger than at any time in the past two years.
Mrs. R L Ovendon and the Damm family with daughters Lucille Garolyn and Theoiia visited Mr. and Mrs. William Glathar and family for Sunday dinner at their home in Elk Creek.
Ralph Irvin Beckwith of Diller earned honors at the University of Nebraska Honors Convocation for placing in the upper ten percent of the College of Engineering. The ceremony occurred Monday morning in Lincoln Nebraska.
Mr. Fred Frisbie enjoyed a quiet fireside Saturday when laughter and "Happy Birthday" erupted as family gathered for Dad's birthday. The evening featured rock and pinochle, with chicken sandwiches pickles fruit salad cake and coffee for refreshments and warm wishes for many more birthdays.
Beatrice and Beulah Dunny hosted ten friends on Saturday for their eleventh birthday. Outdoor games preceded indoors activities with pin the tail on the Easter Bunny. Prizes included a chocolate bunny and a chocolate egg.
Harm Meyer sold his 120 acre farm in section 30 township 15 to Dietrich Blanke for 7500 dollars. The property lies six and one half miles south and one and a quarter miles east of Diller.
A group of relatives surprised Mr and Mrs E E Hill on Tuesday evening April 11 to celebrate Mrs Hill's birthday. The gathering featured rock music and late hours of refreshments before guests departed wishing the couple many more happy birthdays.
The Collier Comedians drew a full house Wednesday night with Amos and Andy. The Johnson twins impressed with the dance acts. next week the company will present a twelve-person edition featuring the charming play Tildy Ann.

Will Bond succeeds Roy Patton as purveyor of Standard Oil products at Diller. He assumes the business Tuesday after Patton's resignation becomes effective and receives a new company truck previously owned by Patton.
A Beat rice grower offered a small truck load of cabbage and tomato plants for sale on Diller streets on Wednesday. Merchants also stocked cabbage and plants though tomato plants seemed early and sales were light. At the Cully home Mr and Mrs Bowen hosted two tables of bridge with Jas Hays winning the men’s prize and Mrs Hays the ladies’ prize followed by refreshments. This was the last meeting before the summer break.
