Pekin Illinois resident W M Smithart was believed to be beyond recovery from consumption. A physician recommended Dr King’s New Discovery for consumption coughs and colds, which Smithart credits with saving his life and says has kept him well for over a decade. The ad touts a scientific cure for coughs and colds and pneumonia prevention, with 50 cent and 1 dollar bottles at Spears drug store and a trial bottle offered.
Henry Weaver and his family who visited Stanford Indiana last fall returned last week concluding Nebraska suits them. They are living in Mrs Warthen's residence property which she recently purchased from Chas Osborn.
A Columbus man writes that Bucklen's Arnica Salve quickly healed a deep foot wound after an accident. The ad notes the product soothes burns and mentions 97 year old John Brown, who plans to celebrate his 100th birthday in Diller with drives to town and social visits.

William Woode of Nebraska born December 28 1839 in Newville Pennsylvania died April 7 1905 at age 65 years 3 months and 9 days. Survived by wife Elizabeth Arabella Line three sons one daughter three sisters and one brother. He moved to Nebraska in 1878 settling on a farm and was esteemed for thrift integrity and neighborly kindness. A pillar of Diller Presbyterian Church and a valued mentor he expressed readiness to depart for heaven but stayed to aid church work. He is now believed transferred to the elder ship in the General Assembly of the First-Born on high.

Dora Carmichael 16, daughter of J H Carmichael, died April 11 1905 after a sudden illness. Born August 11 1888 she leaves her parents three brothers and four sisters. Funeral held at the Presbyterian Church with Rev Neville officiating and interment in Prairie Home Cemetery. mourners include Mrs Ida Morton W W Carmichael Jennings Kan Mrs George Specht Mrs Alonza Specht Sylvester Carmichael Archie L Carmichael and Mable P Carmichael.
