Edmund Ruch, Mt. Eaton cashier, was held at gunpoint by two young men who locked him in the vault and looted about 800 dollars. They escaped in a Buick roadster, cutting town wires, and fled before authorities could locate them. The cashier was released after about an hour and detectives pursued scattered leads with no clue yet.
Orrville Road running north from the Lincoln Highway to Orrville along the Sugar Creek East Union township line was opened to the public on Thursday.

Rev. Shear spoke on A Choice in Life at the Monday chapel for the high school and grammar room. The district reports average attendance of 173 from 175 enrolled with 13 tardies, 7 from the high school, and primary class 99.6 attendance and 1 tardy. First six weeks end with tests set for Thursday and Friday across grades. The school exhibit at the fair earned fourth prize in grade work and fifth in high school with town hip entries from No. 6 and Kidron. Prizes totaled $18.50. librarian hours are one to four with two week loan limit, Martha Gerber Ethel Rudy Dorothy Fankhauser.

Music was furnished Thursday at the fair by the 11th Regt. band of Dalton under Prof. gee catla. The Dalton players were stationed in the grandstand and encored after each selection. The band played many numbers twice and delighted the audience. Prof. Puegner has developed the Dalton band to be among the best for its size.
