Memorial Day will be observed in Dalton with graveside services and a 2 pm parade starting at the city hall. Mayor T. C. Hunsicker presides with Judge Chas. Kreichbaum as speaker. organizers include J. F. Budd and C. F. Buchwalter.

The D H S commencement drew a fair audience at the Methodist church. Speakers included Roy Herr saluta torian Ruth Erwin valedictorian Wilmer Horst historian Katherine Schultz prophet and Fahy Gibson poet. Supt Wenner of Ashtabula Schools delivered the class address on The Challenge of our day. Haydn orchestra provided music. Also listed are the 8th grade graduates and names of the graduates.
The senior class presented What Happened to Jones before full houses on Thursday and Saturday. Roy Herr carried the lead as Jones with strong support from Ellis Kirchhofer as bishop Gale Camp as Richard and Wilmer Horst as Ebenezer. Fahy Gibbons Mrs Goodly Irene Douglas Marjorie Harriet Purdy Katherine Schultz Ruth Erwin handled their roles well.
The Junior Class of Dalton High School banqueted the Senior Class at Baughman Grange hall on Monday evening May 17. The Juniors were entertaining and the event pleased all. Ladies of Baughman Grange served a four course banquet for twenty eight. Decorations matched the class colors silver blue for seniors blue pink for juniors. High school faculty attended as guests. Menu included fruit cocktail fried chicken oyster dressing mashed potatoes and more ending with Brick Ice Cream cakes and mints.
The house supplying the Gazette announced another price increase and now charges three and a half times the pre war rate. We have only raised subscriptions by one half and ask arrears subscribers to pay promptly to meet due obligations.
Mrs. Nora F. Anderson and family thank neighbors and friends for kindness during illness and death of husband and father. Special thanks to the singers and those who provided autos and flowers.
The wedding of Miss Elsie Eckard to Raymond Brenner took place Saturday at 5 PM at the Eckard home. Rev. R E Conrad officiated. a 6 PM dinner followed, and the couple departed for New York City.
A surprise farewell party for Mrs. E. S. Slusser hosted by Class No. 9 M E S S on May 25 at her home. Twenty former students sang songs as they entered to present sealed letters for her journey to England beginning May 29. Guests from out of town included Mrs. George Wenger Mrs. C E Slusser Mrs. Harvey Anderson and others from Massillon Punxsutawney Pa.
Baughman Grange will hold its regular meeting Friday evening to confer the third and fourth degrees on a large class. All members not yet rising to those degrees are urged to attend. A program follows with vocal duet by Mrs. Clyde Camp and Mrs. Ray McAfee, readings by Mildred Boss, a piano solo by Gertrude Groff, and a toastmaster role for D. W. Gatehouse. Toasts will be offered by D. W. Buchwalter J. M. Groff A. A. Weygandt Henry Graber and Frank Wenger.
An ordinance fixes the Street Commissioner salary at fifty cents per hour and labor wages at fifty cents per hour with team labor at ninety cents. It repeats prior ordinances and sets effective dates after passage and publication. Mayor Hunsicker signed May 18 1920 with Clerk E F Scott.

John N. Moore leads the M E Church with Sunday School at 9 30 A M under D W Buchwalter as Superintendent The preaching service occurs at 10 20 A M Epworth League gathers at 6 30 P M for evening activities
The Presbyterian Church hosts Sunday School at 9 30 A M followed by morning worship at 10 30 A M On Wednesday evening a prayer meeting is at 7 30 with choir practice at 8 30.

Farmers are busy planting corn and spring crops. A young girl Bertha Lehman died at home after illness. funeral at Sonnenberg church Thursday morning. Louis Geiser, about 36, died Tuesday night. funeral Friday at 9 a.m. Sonnenberg church. D Kirchhofer sold a carload of fence remaining mostly No 9 wire. expects more stock soon. Sonnenberg time table lists westbound No 3 at 11 13 A M and eastbound No 4 at 6 29 P M.

The will of John M Anderson was filed in probate court on Friday. It leaves his property to Nora Anderson widow Harvey Anderson son and Florence Mock daughter with Nora named executrix and Thomas Hunsicker as executor. The will contains two codicils and the property is to go to widow and children in unequal shares. The will is dated August.
