Memorial Day Exercises in Dalton Sunday May 30 1937

Memorial Day events in Dalton include a parade forming at 1:30 PM at the Town Hall, led by Chief Marshal Dr L L DeArment and State Highway Patrol Color Bearer Chas Ressler. The march proceeds west on Main and south on Church to the cemetery for graveside tribute and a program of instrumental and vocal music.

Memorial Service at M E Church Sunday May 30

The Dalton Memorial Service will be held at the M E Church on Sunday evening May 30 at 7 30 p m. Rev G Pinkerton will preach on Rectifying the Wells of Our Fathers in a union service urged for all to attend. Dalton pastors.

Commencement Exercises At Dalton High School

A Friday commencement in the high school auditorium featured 36 seniors arranged in tiers with pink rose boutonnieres and the class motto Not at the Top but Climbing. Prof. William C. Craig spoke on concentration faith and enthusiasm as the audience listened to music, readings, and diplomas awarded by Supt. Ralph Hathaway and Lee Douglas.

Memorial Day Speaker Daniel E Morgan to deliver city address

Cleveland attorney Daniel E Morgan a noted civic leader will give the Memorial Day address Sunday afternoon May 30. Born in southern Ohio to Welsh parents he later moved to Cleveland where he built a successful law practice and became a prominent public figure. He is described as a gifted speaker and a close student of civic and political affairs.

The Rose Maiden in Dalton May concert

The Dalton Mixed Chorus performs The Rose Maiden cantata on May 12 at 8:00 p.m. in Dalton High School auditorium. Soloists include Norma Jean Jean Wecht Lois Williams Harriet McFarren and others with Miss Elvera Sommer on piano. Proceeds benefit the cemetery association for a permanent hillside stage. Admission 10 and 20 cents.

Kamph and Bowman Wed in Wellsburg West Virginia

Miss Audrienne Kamph and Gordon Bowman wed Saturday in Wellsburg with Rev J E Billings officiating. The couple then returned to Massillon for a supper at the groom’s parents home and will reside there for now. The bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs Ernest Ramph of Dalton. Bowman works at Eaton Manufacturing Co.

Marriage of Marie Hare to Karl Wetterauer

Mr and Mrs Lewis Hare announce the marriage of their daughter Marie to Karl Wetterauer son of Mr and Mrs George Wetterauer of Canton. The ceremony was held Sunday May 16 at the First Reformed church in Canton with Rev Blemker officiating. The bride wore tan lace with white accessories and pink tea rose bouquet. The Tuscarawas Two notes an 8th Grade commencement at Stanwood Reformed Church on Thursday night May 27 with 60 graduates and an address by Rev. D W Foreman of St Paul AB Canton. Memorial Day exercises at North Lawrence on Monday May 31 at 9 00 am at Newman Chapel cemetery with Rev J C Searles of Shelby delivering the address and Dalton 11th Regt Band providing music. Wedding of Miss Lela Camp and Adrian Amstutz at Dalton home

Miss Lela Camp of this place married Adrian H. Amstutz son of Mr and Mrs L E Amstutz of Kidron in a Sunday ceremony at the bride’s home. The event included family members from Camp Goudy and Amstutz lines with a luncheon and attendance from Wayne, Stark and Holmes County communities.
