Willis Martin son of Samuel Martin sustained a deep head gash and numerous scratches when a tree split and branches struck him while E I Ober and Martin felled trees on the D J Moser farm south of town. He was transported by Murray’s ambulance to Massillon City hospital for an x ray next morning.
The Dalton Chamber of Commerce held its regular meeting Tuesday evening in the M E church basement with thirty attendees. Five directors were elected: J. N. Moser Clyde Camp D. H. Parsons C. R. Goudy Ira Adams. they will organize elect officers and report next meeting. A Taxes lecture followed adjournment in the auditorium.
The Community Chorus will practice The Holy City on Saturday evening at the Salem Mennonite church.
Members will hold a business session at the Town Hall on Thursday March 30 at 7 30 p m. They request all fire extinguishers be returned to Baumgartner Garage for inspection and refilling. W P Slusser Chief.
Directors of First National Bank Dalton Ohio met with officials of the Federal Reserve Bank Cleveland to discuss reopening plans. The proposals have been sent to the Treasury Department in Washington for approval and an early reply is anticipated.
Mrs Albert Arnold hosted a dinner and quilting party on Wednesday. Mrs Lydia Zimmerly Neuenschwander of Sonnenberg died suddenly Tuesday night at 10. She was 39 and survived by husband Samuel Neuenschwander and five children Esther 15 Albert 13 Orpha 9 Silas 6 Melvin 4. Funeral Friday March 31 at 9 am at home and 10 am Sonnenberg church.
Miss Glenda Kraus daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Kraus and Oran N Turner head of New Philadelphia Opportunity school were married on March 11 at the Methodist Episcopal parsonage in Wellsburg West Virginia Rev Billingsley officiated in a single ring ceremony There were no attendants The bride a Dalton High School graduate and former Aultman hospital nurse in Canton The groom son of Mr and Mrs A W Turner of New Burlington Ohio graduated from Miami University in 1929 and has led the Opportunity school for two years
Mr and Mrs Alfie Hofacre announce the marriage of their eldest daughter Bertha to Ralph Feller son of Mr and Mrs Christ Feller of Mt Eaton. The couple wed October 28 1931 in New Cumberland West Virginia with Rev I J Howland officiating at the Methodist church.
Wayne County farmers who want government crop production loans should contact G. A. Dustman, County Agricultural Agent, Wooster, Ohio, at once to file applications. Loans cover seed fertilizer spraying tractor oil and gasoline and are not for family gardens. Applicants must be bonafide farmers or tenants with fixed acreage.

Twenty eight people attended the St Patrick Day party hosted by Class No 7 of the United Presbyterian S S at the home of Mr and Mrs Lee Douglas. A 7 p.m. covered dish supper followed by devotionals and a brief business session. Officers elected included Clyde Wenger president Mrs Dennis Arnold vice president and Mrs Samuel Horst secretary with George Berg treasurer. April entertainment committee members were Mrs Clair Tschantz Mrs Wm McIntosh and Mrs Irene Zaugg. Tschantz played a piano solo and Glenn Smith read jokes before Irish games. Out of town guest Miss Emily Holley from Powhatan Ohio attended.
A group of eight high school girls surprised Lucile Lawrence after a Thursday musical on March 23. The gathering at Ethel Marty's home featured jigsaw puzzles and homemade ice cream and cake, with Grace Amstutz Barbara Zuercher Arlene Sandwith Loretta Snodgrass Muil dred Arnold Mary Wertz Thelma Denbrook and the hostess present.
