Well Known Deputy Dies in Orrville Area
Deputy Sheriff John E Kiener, 44, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home three miles north of Orrville on Rt 93. He served nearly 13 years in the Wayne County Sheriff's office and is survived by his wife Clara, a son Johnny, 7, a daughter Jean, 11, and a brother Noah of Cuyahoga Falls. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. at his home with Rev A J Hall and Rev I W Roger officiating. burial followed in Maple Grove cemetery at Marshallville.
