Tragic Accident Claims Orrville Child

Five year old Helen Halter daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur Halter of Orrville was killed instantly at 10 50 am when the left rear wheel of a truck passed over her head. Harold Buss 16 drove the milk truck and was not held responsible for the accident.

Falls From Ladder Injures Local Farmer

Charles Wecht aged 76 sustained back injuries and a slight brain concussion after a ladder toppled while he picked cherries at his son Raymond’s southeast of town home. Dr. A R Kern treated him. he was unconscious when found but resting comfortably at last report.

July worship schedule at Presbyterian church

Teachers Named by Sugar Creek Township Board

At a Tuesday evening meeting of the Sugar Creek township school district board, assignments were made. Dalton High School roles include Ralph Hathaway as Supt, George Eastman as Principal, Evangeline White Eng. Latin, Glen Berg English and Science, Mildred Santschi English, George Vlerebome Commercial, D H. Scott Coach, Faye Pickens Voc Agr, and Dorothy Mumaw Home Ec. Dalton Grades list teachers for each grade, with Don Garver and Victor Gerber for Music. Other schools assign George Amstutz, Geneva Brand, Pauline Gerber Sonnenberg, Evan Amstutz, Martin D Moser, Helen Fosnight, Esther Eberly, and Daisy Vernon to respective positions.

Schultz Family Reunion Honors Mrs. Houghton on 73rd Birthday

The Martin Schultz family held its first reunion at the North Church street home of A E Schultz in Marion. The event celebrated Mrs. Clara Houghton’s 73rd birthday with a noon picnic for about thirty, a three tier cake from Carrie Schultz of Wooster, and an outdoor afternoon among the trees. Families from East Liverpool Akron Cleveland Marion Wooster and Akron area attended along with extended relatives including Oren Schultz Ellis Houghton and Paul Schultz. The lawn and roses framed the gathering at the old homestead.
