Kidron Auction Day Draws Massive Crowd and Prizes

Kidron marked its anniversary sale with 15 000 attendees despite morning rain. S C Cy Springer led consignments including 175 beef cattle 150 calves 50 dairy cows 30 horses 250 hogs and 100 poultry coops. Amish youths won contests and local bands provided evening entertainment.

Dalton Tops Orrville In 11 to 1 Victory

Dalton swamped Orrville in Orrville last Sunday 11 to 1 as the local merchants faced Navarre in the second game. Dalton had 13 hits and 3 errors. Orrville tallied 6 hits and 7 errors. Savers pitched the full game with 13 strikeouts and 1 walk. Coyer and Brown fanned 8 and 2 for Orrville with Coyer allowing 1 base on balls.

Halbert tourist cabins and restaurant open this week

The W. S. Halbert complex opens with five modern cabins each featuring shower, electricity, gas, dainty window curtains and up to date furnishings. An added delicatessen area houses the restaurant. Heavy blue and yellow glass is ordered for the entire front.
