Local Bank Plans Reopening Under Plan C
The First National Bank, closed since the March bank holiday, expects to reopen by July under Plan C of Title two Section 207 of the Bank Conservation Act. About 400 depositors heard the plan in the Dalton school auditorium as officials outlined how 70 percent of deposits would be released at reopening and 30 percent tied to nonconforming securities placed with three liquidation trustees.

Col S C Cy Sprunger of Kidron helped trap a pilfering gang early Saturday. He spotted a strange car in a farmer’s yard at 2 am and followed it to Mt Hope. Deputies arrested Walter Franks and Elmer Harding after license checks linked Franks to the car. They admitted draining five gallons of gasoline. a tractor wheel found on Franks property tied to Ray Kosier thefts near Easton. Bub Stull of Marshallville is in custody for related thefts near Easton.

On Sunday evening Miss Della Springer united in marriage with Charles Burkhart of Pandora at Salem church. The ceremony featured a flowered harmonic setting with Delphian music by Corrienne Gerber and Prof. Victor Gerber, while Rev. A R Keiser officiated. The couple, both well known locally, are praised as fine young people and were joined by many relatives and friends. The service included a rose bouquet, shell pink dress, and a flowered georgette bridesmaid. The bride, daughter of Mrs Caroline Springer, is a former teacher and Mennonite hospital graduate. the groom, son of Mr and Mrs Bruce Burkhart, is Bluffton College educated and a Pandora High School instructor. Next Sunday the Ebenezer Male Choir will perform at Salem, with a musical program led by Prof Victor Gerber and Rev P A Khewer. a delegation from Sonnenberg Swiss settlement is expected and the community anticipates a rare musical treat.
