Board Elects Superintendent At Dalton Schools
The Board of Education selected Prof. Ralph Hathaway of Bloomville Ohio as superintendent for the coming year from twenty five applicants after careful consideration. Hathaway is endorsed by county and state education officials and holds degrees from Heidelberg University and Ohio State. He recently received a life membership in the National Education Association funded by Bloomville alumni, who have issued over two hundred gifts totaling one hundred dollars. During his 19 years as head of Bloomville schools over 260 diplomas have been awarded. Prof J J Haley of Smithville was elected to the Smith Hughes department vocational agriculture.

Band Concert Opens Outdoor Series In Dalton
A large crowd welcomed the 11th Regiment Band to its first outdoor concert in the band stand under Prof. Oscar Puegner of Massillon. Guest soloist Prof. Ross Wyre of Warren joined in the program. The event, sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce with strong business support, offered varied selections from standard classical to popular tunes.
