The United Presbyterians marked Rev. W. H. Hubbell tenth anniversary with a full morning service. Sabbath school reached 142, the largest ever, contributions totaled 11.80 dollars, and 120 of 135 members attended the Lord's Supper before the service. Mr. James Stin-
The senior pastor Rev Hubbell, aged eighty, attended the service and fulfilled his duties as usual. Over ten years 117 new members joined 75 baptisms 31 weddings 28 funerals and 760 sermons. The pulpit was vacant 18 times. Sabbath school enrollment doubled and contributions quadrupled. Ten year totals reached 10503 in church gifts and 1173 from the Sabbath school. Eleven members died or were removed. A rebuilt church and a new parsonage rise beside him as he is revered in Mansfield and beyond for leadership roles in the Synod of Ohio presbyteries and mission work.

The annual Sabbath School Convention for Sugarcreek township will meet June 20 1907 at Salem Mennonite church Sonnenberg. Public welcome especially Sabbath school workers. Evening address by Rev Vornholt and a full program posted. Sessions include devotional 1 30 and sermons on school grading home department teacher as personal worker reports and round table discussions.
A telegram announced the death in Detroit of Mrs Elvira Schultz wife of Louis E Schultz three weeks after attending his father’s funeral. She died from pneumonia after a severe cold and had been a bride only two months. Services were held at the late residence and at the German Lutheran church conducted in German by Rev C G Riedel. Interment in Forest Lawn cemetery.
A circulating story claimed that popular tobaccos like English Curve Cut Lucky Stripe and Dukes Mixture contained little tobacco and mostly brown paper. Investigations show no state pure food commission analysis supports the claims. The tale likely originates as home trade fiction to harm rivals.
A regional notice urges immediate care for a child with diarrhea and recommends Chamberlain’s Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy followed by castor oil as directed. The advice is presented as a household remedy and attributed to A. J. White.
Elam H Martin fell twenty five feet from a swinging scaffold at his employer L B Rudy’s barn one mile east of Dalton while dismantling a hay carrier track. He landed on the granary top, suffering a severe scalp wound and other serious injuries. Cloyce Goudy aided him until medical help arrived and Dr. Haney examined him before he was returned home to recover.
John Garrett of North Mills North Carolina reports that after forty years with a resisting sore he used Bucklen's Arnica Salve. The product is advertised as guaranteed for piles burns and other conditions and sold by A. J. White druggist for 25 cents.
The Crites family held its eighth annual reunion last Saturday at William Homan's Schultz Avenue home in Dalton with about 135 relatives and friends. A sunny day followed weeks of rain, and a lavish dinner was enjoyed by all. J. H. Homan reportedly earned enough to miss two days of work. The next reunion is planned for the Orrville fair grounds in one year. Elected officers include President David Leigey, Vice President Daniel Crites, Secretary Carrie Crites, Assistant Secretary Laura Crites, and Treasurer George Crites. Guests came from Orrville Smithville Marshallville Massillon and Canton Dover.
Little John Featheringham Jr. died after falling into a tub of hot water in Massillon. His mother had prepared the bath on Saturday morning but stepped away briefly. Physicians failed to save him as he suffered convulsions from the scalding.
The Baughman township school hosts its annual picnic in Clapper's grove near Fox lake on Friday June 14. Twenty two Patterson graduates will hold their commencement the same day with Hon Chas Kreichbaum of Canton delivering the address. Barton City Band provides music. Everyone is invited to attend for a day of pleasure and profit.
