Aldis Gerber reports his hired hand Clyde Ansman aged 18 stole a car a suit of clothes and a rifle. Police pursued found the car in Massillon and Ansman was jailed then released after appearing before Judge Kaley. He fled again cutting a telephone line and vanished for two days.

Ezz of Dalton Ohio writes to the editor praising a brass band and bass drum after hearing them perform. He recounts the night, notes his wife and children were not taken to town, and asks for word when more music will be played so they can attend.
Mrs. Emma Siffert 38 was arrested in Canton on infanticide charges after drowning her six-month-old Thelma near the family home a mile north of Navarre. Coroner T C McQuate said she appeared mentally unbalanced and could not recall events beyond seeing the child in the water.
Dr A B Campbell 76 died of cerebral apoplexy at his Orrville home after two years of illness. He resided previously in Canal Fulton and was known in Stark Wayne and Summit medical circles. Survived by widow, son A A Campbell of Newark NJ, daughter Mrs Ernest Murray of Memphis TN, two brothers and a sister in Canada, and two nephews in Mansillon and Akron. Funeral Monday at 2 at the Orrville home with Massillon cemetery interment. Rev R B Wingert officiated.
John Weinand, 47, of West Brookfield formerly of East Greenville, died Saturday night at Massillon hospital after an operation. He played in the local band for years and is survived by his widow, two sons and two daughters, his father Casper, brother Nicholas, and sister Mrs. Catherine Miller. Funeral was held Tuesday with interment at West Brookfield.
Guarantors of a Dalton Chautauqua met at Dr. Purdy's home on Thursday evening June 2 to finalize a General Chautauqua committee of about 20 residents. The event begins Monday afternoon June 27 and runs three days with a double program each afternoon and evening.

The board elected Francis Byron Motz of Wooster as high school principal. Hazel Shane of New Concord will teach 3rd and 4th grades at Dalton No. 1. Other teachers named include Samuel Zechar, Ethel Nussbaum, Lee H. Douglass, Edna Moser, Clinton Springer. No candidates for No. 10 and the Kidron schools. Frank Kosier was re elected janitor.
