Dalton residents may attend a public meeting Thursday night January 13 at 8 o clock in the Dalton high school auditorium to hear Department of Highway engineers discuss the new road proposal and answer questions. Melvin Hagen design engineer will report on the survey and show design details with E F Rule and regional engineers present.

Obituary for Albert A. Shilling Civil Leader and Businessman
Funeral services for Albert A. Shilling 7 of Stanwood were held at the Stanwood Reformed Church. He died January 7 at the home of his son Dr M D Shilling in Ashland. He served two terms in the Ohio House and four years on the Public Utilities Commission. He was a Massillon State Bank director and a Stark County school board member. Survived by widow Grace, a daughter Mrs R C Valazzo of Battle Michigan five sons Doctors Mikle D M A A V R L R B and 20 grandchildren. He was born in Stanwood and once ran a Stanwood general store.

Trash Pickup To Start Saturday In Dalton
The monthly service begins next Saturday with trash in containers. ashes not collected. Residential fee is $2.00 and $4.00 for business, payable to Village Clerk Wm. Tyrrell at First National Bank. Non residents face a $500 dumping fee. Dump will be open only on pickup days, starting February the first Saturday each month.

Federated Circle Elects Officers at Thursday Meeting
The Federated Circle met Thursday night with Mrs. Lester Poorman in attendance. Thirty members and three guests heard devotions by Mrs. Anna Jane Rees, including Scripture, a poem and prayer. Officers for the coming year are president Mrs. Clyde Wenger and secretary treasurer Mrs. Lee Douglas. Prizes were awarded in the snow quiz won by Mrs. Douglas and Mrs. Wenger, with Mrs. Shisler also receiving a prize. Heart sister gifts were exchanged and refreshments included buttered nut leaf, pineapple carrot salad, coffee and tea.
