The Dalton Loest School District board of education meets Monday night. Creek township trustees constables and justice of the peace elect meet at Dalton town hall Monday morning January 2 1960 at nine o clock. Dalton village officials council and board of public affairs to take oath of office Tuesday evening January 1950 to be administered by Mayor Hoobler elect.
Rev. L. M. Marker announces Holy Communion at Sunday morning service January 1, 1960 in the Presbyterian church. A basket dinner at noon will be followed by the annual congregational meeting and election of officers.
Mr. and Mrs. Addison Lehman of E Main announce the birth of a great granddaughter to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Steinbrey of Minneapolis on Christmas day. A Massillon hospital birth Wednesday to Mr. and Mrs. Rey Schopfter of RD 2 Dalton yields a second son named Gary John.
The 152 national forests across 36 states Alaska and Puerto Rico cover 180 million acres. They provide timber forage wildlife recreation and water as major forest resources and benefits for the nation.
The Bethany Sunday School class and neighbors are thanked for Christmas greetings during the holidays. The message extends best wishes for a Happy New Year from Amanda Snavely and Mrs. Ida Douglas.
Marian Louise Dorff and Lee Verlyn Amstutz wed in a December 24 ceremony at First Presbyterian Wooster. Rev. John R Williams officiated. The couple planned a New Orleans trip and will reside in Dalton after visiting the groom's mother. Attendants included Mrs. Laura Amstutz and the Dorff children. The bride is a Ohio State University graduate teaching in Dalton High School. The groom attended University of Toledo and Ohio Northern and works for Bergs IGA in Hartville.
Mr and Mrs E S Killian of Dalton announce the engagement of their daughter Vivian to Claire Santmyer of Dalton son of the late Mr and Mrs William Santmyer. Miss Killian is a 1947 Jackson township school graduate and Lamplite restaurant employee. Santmyer is a 1944 Dalton high school graduate and works for Alvin Martin Construction Co. No wedding date set.
Top graders at Dalton Elementary and High School are listed for the second six weeks of the 1949-50 term. Names span grades I through XII, with students from Sharon Goudy to Willis Eberly and Kathleen Lehman noted for high marks and straight A’s across both campuses.
