Christmas Cantata at Dalton Methodist Church

Roy E Nolte's Dawn of Christmas cantata will be sung by the Methodist Church Choir at Dalton Methodist Church Sunday evening December 17 at 8 15 o'clock. Soloists include Norma Schultz Glenn Berg Robert Slusser Marjorie Bach Edna Schultz Alice Domer Gloria Akers Deila Bach and Edward Hazel. Conducting by Mrs Charles Bates with accompanist Mrs Glenn Berg. Rev Lester Flauhaus reads the Christmas Story and offers prayer. Public invited.

Snowflake Frolic Dance by Dalton Community Guild

The Dalton Community Guild hosts a semi formal Christmas dance named Snowflake Frolic at the Massillon Legion Hall. On Saturday night December 16 Bob Frys orchestra from Canton will play for dancing from 9 30 until late. The public is invited.

Dalton High Christmas Program Set for December 20

Dalton High School will present its annual Christmas program in the high school auditorium at 1 00 p m on December 20. The brass ensemble will perform followed by carol singing. Girls glee club seventh eighth grade chorus and mixed chorus will sing with Donald Shaffer narrator Roy Ringwald Song of Christmas. Schools dismiss at 230 p m for vacation and resume January 2 1951.

Will Sing The Messiah At Orrville Dec 20

The Orrville Community mixed chorus presents Handel's Messiah at Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church Orrville on Wednesday evening December 20 at 8 p m. The chorus of over 100 voices has offered this rendition for several years and the public is invited. Final rehearsal is Sunday December 17 at 2 p m with director Victor Gerber asking all singers to attend.

The Dalton FHA plans a Christmas party for 17 children from the Wayne County Children's Home at the Dalton school auditorium on December 16. Robert E McCormick of Lima, 37, appeared before Mayor Vern Hoobler, brought by State Patrolman M G Carr, pled guilty to reckless driving and was fined 5000 dollars plus costs on Saturday.

Obituary of Jacob P Hasseman prominent local farmer

Jacob P Hasseman 69, well known farmer from the Dalton area, died Friday morning December 8 1950 at Wooster Community hospital after a month illness. Born in Winesburg Ohio he lived on a farm north of Dalton for 30 years. He belonged to the Dalton Presbyterian Church. Survived by widow Julia a son Russell three daughters Mrs Lloyd Zuercher Wooster Mrs Wallace Aker Jr Elyria and Mrs Don Schumacher Dalton two sisters Mrs George L Arnold St Petersburg Fla and Mrs Ed Leyman Winesburg ten grandchildren. Funeral at Dalton Presbyterian Church Monday December 11 Rev J Merrell Marker officiated. Burial in Dalton Cemetery Desvoignes funeral home Mt Eaton in charge.

Bazaar At Stanwood by Stanwood Ladies' Aid

The Stanwood Ladies' Aid will hold a bazaar at the Stanwood school house on Saturday afternoon and evening December 16.
