Department Officer To Visit Dalton Post
John Emde, Senior Vice Commander of the Dept of Ohio VFW, will visit the Dalton Post next Tuesday night, Dec. 14, to initiate new members from the post’s membership drive. Emde served in World Wars I and II with the 37th Division in the South Pacific and is the former Fraunfelter School principal in Akron.

Garden Club enjoys Christmas readings and lunch event
Forty two members answered roll call at the Garden Club meeting in the Methodist Church. Miss Dorff presented readings from her speech department and a clever Christmas playlet. The girls trio sang three songs and Benjamin Eberly sang a tenor solo. Mrs Lawson led a short business meeting followed by a vocal duet by Mrs Schultz and Mrs Hughes. The Christmas Committee served a lunch in the basement with decorated tables. There is no January meeting.

Cordelia M Craig Hazel born January 17 1871 Woodsfield Ohio died Sunday at 5 A M at her Dalton home after 14 weeks illness. She married Joseph R Hazel in 1891 who died November 26 1931. Survived by daughters Mrs Frank Case and Mrs W F Hoobler sons Earle Clyde Edward Charles all of Dalton, sisters Mrs Simpson Kitzmiller Dunkirk Ind and Mrs Jennie Everett Columbus, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral in Dalton with Rev L E Flauhaus officiating. Burial Grandview Cemetery Sebring.

Friday evening December 3 a chicken dinner honored George Berg at Mr and Mrs Weldon Lehman home. Friends gathered later at his house for cards and refreshments served by Mrs Berg and Mrs Lehman with Lois Hranko. Guests included several local families from Wooster Dalton and Alliance. A deer hunters party hosted by Mr and Mrs Harry Blosser featured venison dinner and guests from Dalton Kidron Canton and Alliance. Township Trustee John F Amstutz celebrated 65th birthday with turkey dinner at his son Russell’s Dalton home and relatives from Kidron Loudonville and Dalton.
