Ohio public schools start September 5 with over 900 000 elementary students, the largest in 16 years. Experts forecast elementary enrollment topping 1 000 000 by 1953, while high school numbers rise for the first time in 11 years. Total K-12 enrollment projected at 1 175 490, the highest since 1939. kindergarten rolls exceed 50 000 additional pupils.

Infant Dies. brief burial services held in St Joseph's Church
Janice Schupbach two day old daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold Schupbach of Dalton died early Sunday morning at Massillon city hospital. Funeral services were at St Joseph's Catholic church in Dover with interment in the church cemetery. Survived by parents grandparents and a grandmother.

Orrville Mennonite wedding unites Miss Marilyn Steiner and John S Kauffman
In Orrville on Sunday August 27 1950 at 2 pm Miss Marilyn Steiner daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Steiner and John Samuel Kauffman son of Mr and Mrs John A Kauffman were married. Rev Stanford Mumaw officiated as flowers and music enhanced the ceremony. Afterward a reception at the Steiner home followed by a trip through New York and Pennsylvania and a residence in Dalton. The couple are Goshen College graduates with Mrs Kauffman teaching in Dalton elementary school.
