Dalton 4-H Fair Awards Prizes and Exhibits Noted
Cash prizes and ribbons were awarded at a Dalton 4-H fair held last Wednesday evening on Main Street. Judges included Tom Mykrantz Wooster Bruce Simon Apple Creek and Harry Swartz. Widespread projects showcased by Dalton Girls 4-H club numbered 63 with pony rides industrial displays and farm machinery. Proceeds from a Dalton Co refreshment stand benefited local 4-H clubs. Dalton Woman Dies After Chronic Leukemia
Mrs Marilyn J Mertes 22 of Youngstown died Tuesday Aug 16 in Dunlap Memorial hospital Orrville after a three year illness. She lived in Dalton until two months ago and was a Dalton High School graduate. Survived by husband James. parents Vernon and (Mrs) Sommer. siblings Fred Sommer and Mrs Jerry Cooper. Funeral held Friday at Dalton Methodist Church with burial in Dalton Cemetery. Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary held a service prior. Monbarren Funeral Home Doylestown in charge.

Dalton Village enacts a three year cap on The Ohio Fuel Gas Company charges for natural gas with a minimum monthly charge of 1.50 and a 5 percent late fee. The ordinance repeals prior Ordinance No. 157 of 1945 and aligns rates with Public Utilities Commission rules. It specifies heat value requirements and domestic commercial service priorities.
