New Sewer Plan Considered For Dalton Voters

Mayor Stockham invites all Dalton taxpayers to a September 7 meeting at 8 pm in the school auditorium to discuss a proposed private contract sewer system and determine taxpayer support. The plan promises lower costs than WPA or PWA projects.

Leitner Yeaman Wedding on Sunlit Terrace in Aug

Miss Florida Leitner and Kenneth Yeaman wed on Sunday afternoon August 20 at 3 30 on the Leitner home terrace. Rev H Patterson officiated before about a hundred relatives. The couple will reside after September 1 in a Central Hotel apartment.

Church Reopening Service Marks Redevelopment At Methodist

The Methodist church hosts a reopening service to honor decor of the church auditorium and beautification of the building. Special music and a fellowship reception will follow, inviting all members and friends to attend a homecoming as vacation days end. Bring friends to the Sunday service.

Mrs. Katherine Moser Dies in Brewster After Illness

Mrs Katherine Irene Moser 60 wife of Albert D Moser died at home in Brewster Saturday night after a six week illness. She had lived in Brewster 20 years and is survived by her husband two daughters Odessa and Alberta two sons Stanley and Carroll four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 30 pm at the home and Brewster Reformed church Rev S J T Flohr officiating with burial in Dalton cemetery.

Funeral for Robert Lormer Child of Canton Parents

Funeral services were held for Robert C. Lormer 10 of Canton at the Orville Smith parlors with Rev C D Besch officiating. Burial followed in West Lawn cemetery. The fourth grade Baxter student died after being struck by a truck while crossing Lincoln highway near his grandparents east of Dalton. He had been taken to Massillon city hospital where he died Friday morning from injuries.

Missionary Society Meeting Highlights China Field

The Women’s Missionary Society of the Presbyterian church met on Thursday afternoon with Mrs Ira Wertz presiding. Mrs J F Steiner of Wooster spoke on the mission field at Hainan China and shared many pictures of native schools and churches. The program featured violin and baritone duet by Wanda and Marilyn Berg, a piano solo by Mabel Hershey, poems by Mrs Goudy and Mrs Ida Haney, and a vocal duet by Mrs Anna Jane Rees and Marilyn Berg.

Highway Patrol To Boss Traffic at the Fairgrounds

The Highway Patrol will supervise traffic during the fair. Col. Black conducts a pre fair traffic school on the grounds for rookie patrolmen and staff assigned to fair grounds duty.
