Travelers From This Community Sail to Berne Switzerland

Fred Fahrney and companions David Geiser Paul Graber and Paul Gerber all of this community took passage on the Belgian steamship Continental departing New York Monday. Their destination is Berne Switzerland where they expect to spend a month or two visiting the fatherland.

Mrs Paul Schultz hosted a bridal shower last Wednesday evening for her niece Vivian Douglas, who will wed David E. Smith on August 11. Sixteen guests attended, with colorfully hemmed monogrammed tea towels and prizes for Mrs Clara Douglas and Mrs L E Moser. The decor featured a bridal doll and attendants with floral accents, and refreshments included cherry sundaes angel food cake nuts mints and coffee.

Dr W W Zuercher a north of Kidron veterinary will be unable to practice for weeks after a bull crushed him against a tractor Friday night His right arm was fractured as he returned to the barn from a hay field with the bull attached to the tractor when it lunged.

Dalton Garden Club Picnic and Carnival Donations

Dalton Garden Club members and families met at the Methodist Church basement for a picnic supper on August 5. Members are asked to bring ten donations for the Carnival stand to the park on August 12 between 5 30 and 6 30 PM. Anyone may donate house plants or flower arrangements. White elephant vases discarded tools and artistic fruit or vegetable arrangements are welcome.

A son was born Tuesday morning to Mr and Mrs Arthur Young of Canton, with Mary Jo Mentzer noted. A daughter arrived Thursday at Beeson Hospital in Wooster for Mr and Mrs Chester Lehman of Dalton R D. Another daughter, born August 1 to Mr and Mrs Daniel S Wenyverd of Dalton, weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces.

Ladies Auxiliary Meeting Plans August VFW Picnic
