Manna March 18 5 50 p m The first battalion of the Twentieth infantry regiment advanced from Pasig clearing the country to Cainta a village of 700 inhabitants five miles northwest of the foothills Rebels defended the town from dense jungle river banks and windows The Americans carried the town after four hours of fighting burned the outskirts and withdrew to resupply Rebels lost about 100 men Americans Johnson of Company C and Private McAvoy of Company L were killed.
