A Ohio woman is charged with killing two of her children in a shocking and methodical crime. authorities say the deaths occurred in a cold blooded act, stirring outcry across the community and prompting a high profile investigation.
In Cotrmets Ohio on a Saturday morning Mrs W H B Williams wife of a Grove City real estate man. After taking opium with her three children Annie Maud and Harry she killed Maud and attempted to kill the others. Maud died, Harry died later from throat wounds, Annie survived and later aided her father. Mrs Williams confessed to planned murder and suicide and was arrested. Domestic troubles led to the deadly acts.
London April 3 The bill for the disestablishment of the church in Wales passed its second reading in the house of commons with a 304 to 260 vote and a government majority of 44.
The Commercial Bank of Stevens Point Wisconsin closes its doors amid panic. Byron B. Park is named receiver with liabilities about 60 000 dollars and assets around 100 000. Emmons Burr, the banks president, cites unfriendly pressure and withdrawals as reasons for suspension of payment. The bank previously closed in 1893 during a panic.
Beginning Monday all coke operators in the Connellsville district will pay men the 16 percent advance announced by Frick & Co. A regional canvass found no operator to refuse the new rates and most posted no notice. Union organization remains the aim, a Scottdale convention may be unnecessary if wage scales are now uniform.
Dana April 3 Father Karminski and 12 St Pauls Catholic church members were arrested on arson charges for the prior week's building fire. Karminski, surprised but cooperative, was retained at Cottonade hotel. Witnesses claim fire began upper sections while lower area remained unburned.
Captain Morschlager aboard the La Campine in Baltimore showed a new German repeating rifle from Mouser’s invention. The weapon fires from shoulder height and can travel nearly two miles. At 2000 yards it is claimed to pierce seven stacked bodies.
Marshfield Wisconsin April 8 Governor Upham named Captain H H Chase to buy and distribute ten thousand dollars in seed for fire sufferers in Northern Wisconsin. Chase will assume duties immediately following the legislative provision authorizing the relief program.
Denver April 3 The Colorado Supreme Court has granted a supersedeas to stay Henry Tyson's execution scheduled next week for an 1888 murder. Tyson was originally given a death sentence suspended due to mental illness and resentenced after a jury found him sane.
The March receipts total 25 470 575 dollars and expenditures 25 716 957 dollars creating a March deficit of 246 376 dollars. For the nine months of the fiscal year the deficit stands at 36 542 153 dollars.

Charles S. Owsley former recorder of votes and his deputy Harry G. Bris low posted bonds of 1500 each before Judge Wofford to answer charges of permitting fictitious names in the registration. Indicted by the grand jury last week.
New York attorney William R. Wilder sues New York Bank Note Co. for 417 dollars for professional services. The bank counters with a 100000 dollar claim alleging Wilder conspired with Russell Sage.
