Police Informer In Liquor Case Claims He Was Framed
Clarence McBride was convicted of selling beer without a license after a no trial. The defense claimed the undercover informer Jordan was framed as a convicted felon worked with police to trap McBride. Jordan testified he bought three bottles of beer for three dollars and a radio, a claim McBride denied. The case featured accusations of entrapment by police and testimony from detectives Lowry and Palmerrh. The jury returned a guilty verdict after deliberating about half an hour.

State's Movie Censors May Ban Showing of Birth Of A Nation
Baltimore May 28 Four Maryland movie censors consider banning Birth of a Nation in the state. Board chair Ridney Borauh says prohibition under discussion and likely to become official today. Drive-in operator says he spent 441 advertising for a Sunday showing and is barred. Shull notes he has shown the film in Maryland before without censorship, but a copy now in use is tattered and hazardous. The 1915 film adapts Thomas Dixon's The Clansman and portrays the Civil War era with Civil War era Southern perspectives. It has been barred in several states over racial issues and rioting in Boston marked its first 1915 showing.
