First Flag Raising Of Season At District Camporee

Hoy Scouts attended the annual District Camporee at the Washington Monument State Park near Boonsboro. The event opened Friday evening and closed Saturday afternoon with demonstrations of camping skills and a five mile hike as part of second class outdoor requirements. Walter Kittel led activities with Richard Milley as chief judge and Frank Mattax as chief scorer. Charles Shanks supplied weed for fires and some food items.
