K R Company to Erect New Factory Here

Kreider Reissnecraft Corp will add a new airplane factory on a 17 acre site, costing 40 000 to 50 000 dollars. The plant will provide 30 000 square feet of floor space, with possible additions, and employ about 250 workers when completed. The existing factory will stay in operation. The site was previously a landing field near the Municipal Airport along the Middleburg Pike. Construction starts soon to meet rising demand for Challenger aircraft.

Legion Post To Initiate Classi Pinal Anniversary Banquet

Morris Frock Post plans a Thursday night initiation at the State Armory to mark the post’s tenth anniversary. Members meet at the Legion Home at 7 30 pm and march to the Armory led by the Drum Corps wearing new uniforms. State Commander Smith, State Adjutant McGee, Col. D John Markey and officers from Chambersburg Greencastle Waynesboro Frederick Boonsboro attend. Local Auxiliary members will attend. An elaborate banquet follows.

Pre-Dedication Services Open At Church Of God I

A large audience filled the Church of God I on Monday night to welcome Rev J L Updegraph general secretary for Churches of God in the U S as the opening night of pre dedication services He will dedicate the new building at the corner of Baltimore and Summit Ave next Sunday The subject of last nights sermon was prayer tonight he will preach on faith and Wednesday night on the Holy Spirit Special music features choirs from the church An intermediate choir of 26 voices presented a half hour program last night with the senior choir set to sing tonight and the junior choir tomorrow night

Mississippi judge named to new federal district post

New U. S. Judge Allen Cox of Baldwyn, Mississippi, a chancellor, has been named to the federal bench for the newly created North Mississippi district. Cox, 42, is the son of a former Mississippi Supreme Court justice and nephew of the famed Confederate soldier known as Private John Allen.

Plans completed for a dinner dance on Saturday greeting 200 hotel men from Washington Baltimore Virginia West Virginia and Pennsylvania guests at the Hotel Alexander. Roy A Leiter to preside as master of ceremonies. Local hosts J Boyd Henr Thomas H Hardinge John Hamilton James Koliopolus Athos Nicol Horace L Wiggins of Philadelphia will attend. Halfway Children Will Be Examined

A Public Health nurse inspected Halfway School pupils in Washington County to prevent a diphtheria outbreak. One student showed a throat patch and was sent home, averting possible spread. The association reported seven dollars in its treasury at the March meeting.

Museum bills pass in Annapolis to support Hagerstown museum

The House of Delegates approved three measures for the Museum of Fine Arts of Hagerstown last night at Annapolis. The bills authorize incorporation, allow the county to provide up to 10000 dollars annually for upkeep, and let the museum lease city land in City Park.

Boy Scout Troop Activities and Upcoming Board Reviews

The council plans a 4 PM Wednesday board of review at the Council office with no further applications for this session. the April board will consider remaining items. Troop 1 reorganized patrols under new Scoutmaster J A Knott, with Bernard Rang active, Richard Heime patrol leader of Fox, David Hoover assistant, and William Griffy leading Lions with John Ebersole as assistant. Troop 2 formed an honorary Flying Eagle patrol, tender foot tests passed, and talks on an assistant scoutmaster continued. Troop 3 planned a troop treasury benefit performance, Barkdol passed tender foot tests, others completed portions of requirements, and a profitable evening with games.

Regional principals conference to be held at Frederick High

A regional conference of school principals from Frederick Washington and Montgomery counties will meet at Frederick High School on Wednesday. About zero principals are expected. organizers mark the gathering as a planning session for districtwide leadership.
