How to Prevent Crab Grass in Lawns This Spring
A farming style guide advises that crab grass is annual and dies in winter. In spring repair bare spots from last summer by burning dead grass, loosening soil, applying plant food, seeding, and watering. Maintain thrifty lawns with regular feeding and mowing, avoid overcutting, and remove seed before it matures. Do not use manure on lawns as a crab grass cause.
