Two Charged With Killing Hitch-Hiker in Florida

Two carpenters, one in Ormond Beach and one in Baltimore, face first degree murder charges in the December slaying of Baltimore hitchhiker Paul J. Kliewer. Arthur J. Green of Ormond Beach is charged. Ernest L. Boone was named on a murder warrant after Baltimore authorities pursued the case.

Plan Autopsy To Determine Death Cause

Washington autopsy to find the cause of death for Mrs. Pailina Longworth Sturm 31 granddaughter of President Theodore Roosevelt. She was found unconscious in her living room by her daughter Joanne and died in hospital about an hour later. Police noted an empty sleeping pill bottle nearby. She was the daughter of Alice Roosevelt Longworth and Nicholas Longworth and widow of Alexander Sturm who died in 1951. Her mother survives.

Chairmen Appointed for Washington Heart Fund Drive

Egypt Retaliates Over Suez Seizure with Insurance Firm Actions

CAIRG reports Egypt has seized 64 British and French insurance firms after the Suez invasion and moved operations to nine Egyptian insurers. The Commerce Ministry ordered insurers struck from register. all firms must reregister to operate. Other foreign banks and traders were Egyptianized or given timelines to convert to Egyptian joint stock. Valuations of seized properties estimated between 210 and 980 million dollars, though most assets are banked in Paris or London.

Among 22 new ministers baptized Saturday was Mary Lee Cox, presiding minister here. Speakers stressed fulfilling ministry obligations with love joy peace long suffering kindness goodness faith mildness and self control to enjoy lasting peace security and health. Lester L. Roper said the United Nations is a tombstone of defeat, like the League of Nations. A cafeteria served 1040 full course meals during the assembly.

Old Almanacs Long In Family In Virginia and Pennsylvania

A family hoard in Hag ers town and nearby areas holds almanacs dating from 1802 onward. Gruber printed Gruber’s and American Farmer Almanack editions, with Chambersburg copies back to 1812. The collection shows well-used volumes with similar subject matter across eras, including several 1822 to 1827 American Farmer issues.
