White House meeting eyed for Blue Ridge area
A meeting of the Hagerstown Chamber of Commerce committee on the Sam White House project will go to Blue Ridge Summit this afternoon to discuss possible sites for a Summer White House and to present the advantages of the Blue Ridge region to officials from Frederick Waynesboro Chambersburg and Blue Ridge Summit. The meeting follows a directors’ session reporting that recommendations will be made to the State Roads Commission to treat dangerous rail crossings and add signs at crossroads to reduce accidents. Walter C. Snyder of the Cumberland Valley Division has been promoted to special engineer on the official staff.
