Miss Mary L. Shipley sixteen of 61 West Franklin street was struck by a car on Funkstown hill Sunday night about 11 o clock. Miss Evelyn Imes seventeen of 355 South Potomac Street was also struck and slightly hurt. Driver Howard A. Robinson of Hagerstown Route 5 said he tried to pass another vehicle and forced to the side where the girls walked. She fell to the ground and the other motorist reportedly believed the other car was being driven by a man under the influence.
