In Holland Michigan a couple reports being kidnapped by a man with scratches on his face. They drove him to Gary Indiana where he robbed them and fled in their car. Roy Gordon Beh 34 a Newark aircraft rep was found shot in a snow field near his car. His wife said he often gave rides to hitch hikers including servicemen.

Panama Uprising Is Short-Lived

Judge Joseph D. Mish was named Washington County director of the Maryland Chapter National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis for the annual March of Dimes drive in Washington County from January 14 through 31. Maryland's 1945 campaign raised 271000, split evenly between research and local care and treatment. In 1944 Maryland reported 446 infantile paralysis cases, with at least 300 cared for by the Maryland Chapter.
