Board Revokes Liquor License for Har lem Tavern
Cap Whitaker proprietor of Har lem Tavern in the 200 block of Jonathan street had his alcoholic beverage license revoked as of Saturday night by the Board of License Commissioners after a Friday hearing. Whitaker was convicted in Circuit Court weeks earlier of selling whiskey on a Sunday in a club on the building’s second floor. he and associate Frank Long were fined $250 each by Judge Mish on the Sunday selling charge.

Husband Of Slain Woman Charged In Double Murder
John Barnak a 30 year old steel worker sat in a prison cell as funeral plans for two slain individuals proceeded. The victims were Madeline Barnak 21 and Benjamin Clifford Bowman 22 a discharged Army air forces lieutenant. Both were shot to death about midnight Thursday.
