Two Penal Farm Inmates Escape
Two negro prisoners escaped yesterday morning from the State Penal Farm at Roxbury. Identified as Pastel Day alias Lewis Pulley alias Walter Pulley a 27 year old 5 7 and 142 pounds and Wilbert Opher 21 5 7 and 132 pounds. Day was sentenced to five years from Anne Arundel county for assault with intent to kill with eight months remaining. Opher was sentenced to seven years from Baltimore for larceny with two years left.

Stewardess Attacked Aboard Airliner In Nashville
Nashville, Aug 9. A Sky Sleeper stewardess Rose mary Griffith 24 of Flushing NY was attacked in the ladies lounge aboard a westbound American Airlines plane as it neared landing. She said a man demanded a key to the mail express and baggage compartment threatened to shoot if refused. Griffith was hospitalized with head bruises and scratches. doctors call her too nervous to be questioned. Paul Stanley an Airline official spoke with her and said she described the assailant and the demand.
