The Eastern Hills Amateur Baseball festival features 30 booths rides and games along with pee-wee football and softball games a hot air balloon with a money drop and a WABE All-Star benefit game between Cincinnati News Media Team. Proceeds support Eastern Hills youth and fund improvements at Aicholtz Field.
The Clermont County Historical Society will sponsor its annual fall bus tour on Sunday Oct. 4 visiting the Kentucky Horse Park and Washington Kentucky. Open to the public with space limited. For reservations call Dee Hill at 753 5859. Tour price is 15 dollars.
The Clermont County Unit of the American Cancer Society hosts Sheriff John Van Camp's Fifth Annual Charity Ball on Saturday Oct 3 at the Syrian Shrine Oasis near Loveland. Danny Angel and the Sharecroppers play from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Proceeds aid the county unit's cancer efforts.
Clermont County Chamber of Commerce launches first major fund raising drive with a Bar-B-Q and Auction at the Syrian Oasis in Loveland on Wednesday September 30. Bar-B-Q starts at 2 p.m. auction at 5 p.m. Prizes donated by Chamber businesses include a 1952 MG TD roadster a 1978 Bat Midger cash and services.
Batavia Township zoning board votes unanimously against a zoning change that would allow double-wide mobile homes on single-family lots. Armstrong argues the double wides resemble site-built homes but residents oppose expanding mobile housing. A final board decision will occur in about 30 days.
Six years after Estates Mobile Home Park, Greenbriar residents faced scrutiny over water and sewer tap in charges. Kathy Gilliam of the water and sewer department said an account was created when the sewer permit was paid in September 1975, allowing billing for services not authorized. The tap in rate had increased, and a proposed payment deferment was not approved due to lack of collateral. The commission noted the owners disputed the new rate because development preceded it. Union Township trustees discussed recurring Friday night parking problems and police access during a meeting led by Trustee Catherine B. The board also set Halloween trick or treating for October 31 from 6 to 8 PM amid concerns about blocked streets and emergency access.
In Clermont Hamilton and Brown county, Stevenson property is slated for bidding. West region buyers include Charles Bickett of New Richmond joining bidders as the deal progresses.
