Three Clermont county villages prepare to host the Sesqui centennial Pioneer Ox Team Caravan with a pageant at Georgetown titled Freedom on the March. The event features 36 pioneers in period garb, over 100 characterizations, and a Civil War era milestone sequence ending with Governor St Clair and Marietta’s founding in 1788.

John Williams 82 of Chile was killed instantly when struck by a car on Route 52 near his home late Sunday. Clarence Groce 37 of Maysville Ky drove the automobile with his son and a friend. state patrol and coroner absolved. Services were held at Broadwell Funeral Home with burial in Chile Odd Fellows cemetery. Williams had moved from Indiana and had no known relatives, living with Homey Hendrixson in Chile.

Robert Allen, 58, of Bethel, was found dead Thursday morning on the Beechmont levy after being struck by a hit-and-run driver. A plasterer by trade and union card bearer, he left his mother Mrs. Grafton Allen and siblings Albert of Bethel plus two sisters in Middletown and Cincinnati. Funeral services were held Saturday at Kennedy Funeral Home.

Reds Set Four Game Series With Pirates To End 1938 Fight
The Cincinnati Reds, in a tight pennant chase, open a three game series in St Louis as Pittsburgh and Chicago also pursue a similar slate.
