The Clermont County Republican convention met last Saturday with earnest workers and strong hopes. J. R. Woodlief called the session to order, and A. L. Donley was chosen permanent chair. Max Syer was nominated for infirmary director. D. D. Marsh later stood aside for Syer after a single ballot. Resin Hawkins and J. M. Miller were named for commissioner. J. N. Antimen and M. A. Thompson for recorder. Executive committee members were selected, and the body adjourned in high spirits.

Ancient Clay Coffin Found In Mound Near Dallasburg
Senator Eltzroth on his Warren county farm uncovered a three foot long clay coffin amid a mound near Dallasburg Lebanon. The coffin lined with stonelike material contained only dark dust and no bones, though nearby skeletons of three adults and buffalo bones were found. The mound measures six feet high, seventy five by ninety feet, with a cross section carved to reveal more beneath. If fragments can be reassembled it may be shown at the World’s Fair. an archaeologist says the coffin was used by a people three thousand years ago.

Woman Fells to Poison in Domestic Tragedy at Williamaberg
