The Rev. Leo J. Walter M M newly appointed regional superior of the Maryknoll Missioners in the Philippines has returned to the United States. He will visit Clermont for a brief stay October 1 before returning to Mindanao and oversees 29 missions in Davao province. Walter, a Cincinnati native and Purcell high school graduate, spent 12 years in China after his 1941 ordination and faced a Japanese prison camp and house arrest by the Communist regime. He has been a Philippines pastor since 1951.

Break‑in at Bill's Coin Shop Net Two Suspects Held
Monterey deputy recounts fifth break in at Bill's Coin Shop on Route 50. Two suspects identified as Walter A Proctor 32 of 7858 YMCA Rd Newtown and Donald Herron 22 of 785y Anchor Rd Newtown were taken into custody. Shop owner William Bainum Jr 16 and his father discovered the break about 7 15 p m and alerted Sheriff Clyde B Dericks. Proctor was found in a second floor unoccupied apartment and said he had been with Herron who was earlier picked up on an intoxication complaint.
