Mobile Chest X ray Service Schedules for Clermont County

The 1968 schedule lists mobile unit visits in Milford Batavia New Richmond Williamsburg Cherry Grove Mt. Carmel and Monroe Township with times from morning to evening. The program, run jointly by the Clermont County TB and Health Association and local boards, funds x rays at a reduced 1 dollar rate and requires health department certificates for food handlers.

Clermont Grand Jury Indicts 21 Defendants on Wide Range of Charges

The Clermont County grand jury returned 21 indictments after a two day session. Defendants include Joseph Jones Jr. 35 Feesburg Carl McCleese 33 Georgetown and Harold Sentman 21 Bethel for armed robbery and related counts. Randall Estes 18 Amelia faces four indictments including driving a stolen car and breaking into a home. Additional charges include larceny by trick against Edward L. Luster 37 Rittman and others across Milford, Blanchester, Williamsburg, Mt. Carmel, and Loveland.

Batavia Bridge Deal Approved

Ohio Highway Director P E Masheter approved a project to widen the Batavia segment of SR 132 over the East Fork of the Little Miami River. The Batavia plan includes reconstructing the bridge and approaches to four lanes between SR 132 Main Street and SR 222.

Morton Salt Wins Rock Salt Bid on Ice Control

Morton Salt Co of Wadsworth Ohio was the low bidder at 13.58 per ton for rock salt to control ice when proposals were opened Friday. Cargill of Minneapolis bid 13.80. International Salt Co of Clarks Summit and Diamond Crystal of St Clair Michigan bid 14.58. The four companies had identical 13.80 bids last year and Cargill won by lottery.

Teacher Meeting Set Friday At Amelia High

Clermont County Education Association holds its annual meeting at Amelia High School on Friday September 27 with about 800 teachers and administrators in attendance. Dr H I Von Haden of Miami University will deliver the keynote address. Afternoon sessions feature professional workshops and a large materials exhibit in Amelia Junior High auditorium. Music by the Amelia High School department under directors Jerry Robinson and Tim Duncan. Hugh Dunn coordinating exhibitors and Denver Jackson handling parking. August Auto Title Levy Tops One Hundred Thousand

The August Auto Title Department reported 103 591.71 in totals with 3179 titles issued. Revenue included 85 644.33 for dealer purchases and 7 426.58 casual tax, plus 3 090.30 use tax on out of state purchases. Comparatives show 636 cases filed versus 697 last August. Domestic Relations collected 54 595.69 with 1 468 checks issued.

Goshen Voters Top County In Registration

Goshen Township led the county in voter registration after a live campaign. Goshen precinct recorded 163 registrations while the township total reached 517, close to Union Township. Final statewide registration deadline was Sept 25 at 9 p.m. Past totals show 37,000 in 1960 and 36,030 four years earlier.

Saxbe to Headline State GOP Convention Address

William B. Saxbe will deliver the main address at the 1968 Republican State Convention in Columbus at the RKO Palace Theater on September 28. Gov. James A. Rhodes and other leaders will speak, with live statewide telecast planned. The event focuses on Senate and House races, plus congressional contests, to boost GOP majorities.

Kiwanis Ohio District Golden Anniversary Convention Leaders Named

Milord Kiwanis Club member Carl Kietzman will serve as General Chairman for the 1968 Kiwanis Ohio District Golden Anniversary Convention opening September 29 at the Netherland Hilton in Cincinnati. Mrs Anna Ruth Kietzman is Ladies General Chairman. The Ohio District, organized September 26 1918, has over 17500 members in 339 clubs and the convention expects about 2000 representatives. Speakers include Attorney General William B Saxbe on Law and Order in Ohio and Mary Lee Olson presenting Wigs and Wearables. Lt Governor Ward Lanier will head delegations from multiple clubs across the district.

CAC Industrial Group To Hear Talk On Issues

Clermont County CAC Industrial Luncheon hears Ohio official Ray Noffsinger describe Issues 1 and 2 on the November ballot. Issue 1 would authorize up to 759 million dollars in bonds for highways and capital projects. Issue 2 would allow property tax exemptions for homeowners over 65. Bluestein Former Bethel Banker Dies at 91

Services for S Bluestein 91 of 4025 Paddock Rd Cincinnati former Bethel Bank official were held Sunday at Weil Funeral Home Burial was in United Jewish Cemetery. Bluestein came to Bethel in 1884 when his father Louis opened a department store. In 1906 he succeeded his father as director of the First National Bank of Bethel He became president in 1921 and served as chairman of the board from 1932 until last year He leaves a daughter Mrs Harold K Moss of Paddock Rd a son Richard executive vice president of National Jewish Hospital Denver Colo four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
