Campbell leads Bourbons in 1981 slowpitch season
Paul Campbell of Glen Este High School served as catcher and backup pitcher for Kentucky Bourbons, starting every game. He hit .474, led in doubles and triples, totaled 96 hits with 52 RBIs, and hit .600 in the World Series title run. He chose Kentucky for better play opportunities and enjoyed road travel. The Bourbons finished 48-22, placing third in the Western Division behind Cincinnati and Milwaukee. Campbell eyed continued play next year amid league expansion and returning older teams.
