Clermont County establishes the Credit Bureau to serve the entire county with files including suits judgments and chattel mortgages from county records. The bureau will also record repossessions and charged off accounts from county merchants.
At the fall meeting in New Richland county educators and coaches heard L G Hause urge a county wide sportsmanship code for all athletics. The proposed rules call for treating opponents as guests, respecting rival students, supporting officials, cheering fair plays, and avoiding profanity.
The Wilmington District Woman's Society of Christian Service Group One holds its fall meeting at Salem Methodist Church on Salem Road and Sutton Ave Tuesday Sept 25 at 9 45 a m. The group includes towns such as Newtown Milford Loveland Maineville Edenton Fayetteville Williamsburg New Harmony Bethel Hamersville Felicity Chile Neville Moscow Pt Pleasant Amelia and Forestville. Mrs J F Rentz will speak in the afternoon after a three month Southeast Asia mission tour and teaching Southeast Asia at Sabina school of missions in July. Robert R. Griffin resigns as president of the First National Bank of Batavia. He had led the bank for almost two years since the retirement of George W. Gregg and was unavailable for comment at press time.
Final distribution of 1955 motor vehicle license fees allocates $25,356.88 to Clermont County and $10,762.75 to townships. The county receives nine percent based on road mileage while townships receive five percent. The county auditor will distribute each township's share.
Justice of the Peace Nellie Mattox handled four cases in Amelia on Monday night. James Abner, stationed at Wilmington Air Base, was fined 200 and jailed three months for hit and run and a head on collision near Mt. Holly Tavern. Several others faced fines, costs, or probation for traffic violations, disorderly conduct, and related offenses at Dreamland Skating Rink and Rt. 125 incidents.
Lester Harrison of Rt. 6 Batavia was charged with manslaughter and bound over to the grand jury under a $2500 bond by Mayor J. F. Paschal after his car, in which Angelo Tsangeos was fatally injured August 23, was struck by a truck at the Lindale intersection. Tsangeos died instantly. Harrison pleaded innocent.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike DiSalle will speak at two dinners on Friday September 21, one at the D X Ranch in Clermont led by Charles A. Colonel, and another at a Georgetown Brown County event per Lawrence Huber. Congressman Edmonson of Oklahoma will substitute for Hap py Chandler at Clermont with James Polk also scheduled to speak. local Democratic candidates expect about 200 attendees at the $5 plate event.
NEW RICHMOND The village sewage system now under construction may be operating in December as contractors and engineers told the village Council. The council hopes to extend sewer lines to homes along US 52 east of the village, but funding for the expansion is unsure. Henry Breller, village clerk, resigned effective Oct 1 for business reasons.
Milford High School senior Miss Sarah Peck was selected as Fall Festival queen by classmates. Daughter of Mrs. Chapman A. Peck she resides on Klondyke and Overlook Roads. Peck aims to be a commercial artist or designer after graduation and has served as a high school cheerleader. She was one of two Milford girls chosen to attend Girls State this year.
Bethel Grange, praised for outstanding community service, competed in a state Grange event and now qualifies for the national Grange Sears Roebuck contest. Edward Brown of Rt. 2 Bethel serves as master of the local grange.

About 400 voters have registered with the Clermont County Board of Elections across Miami Goshen Pierce and Union townships. Separate from those still unregistered estimated at 500, with September 26 the deadline for the November election. Registration at the county office is available daily with extended evening hours and Saturday options.

Clermont County Sheriff Clyde B. Dericks said a lie detector test given to a Bethel youth offered no proof of his claim that his brother killed Frank Grause, 68, found Aug. 28 buried in a creek bed near Nicholsville. The youth later admitted fabricating the story to avoid questioning.
Branch Hill resident Luther Allison was robbed of his car and money after picking up a man and two women at Casino's Bar. Deputies Virgil Marcum and F F Fuller were attacked by cafe patrons while transporting the suspect, who escaped as they struggled to avoid disarmament.
More than 100 attended the Batavia Business Men's Association picnic at the Clermont Sportsmen Club last Wednesday. President Gene Gordon said the event could become an annual affair with games, music, and box lunches from the D-X Ranch. The association paid for the event.
