At a Monday night meeting the West Clermont Board of Education deferred implementing four hour days for first and second graders. The action follows prior approval to cut hours from five to four as a safety measure at Amelia parents’ request. Protests arose from district parents fearing negative effects from reduced daily instruction. The board will study several subjects before a final decision next Monday.
Postmasters warn patrons that a new postal regulation allows written requests to withhold from delivery mail items deemed obscene or Communist political propaganda. Upon receipt, such mail will be disposed of as undeliverable matter under existing rules. The Ohio History Society in Columbus released a study on earliest inhabitants of present day Ohio.
The Miami East Volunteer Fire Department will hold its first dance of the season on Saturday September 28 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Montgomery Business Men's Club 7777 Sycamore with the Melody Makers led by Mel Lierman. Proceeds fund department improvements. Reservations at 831-4282.
